PICTURES TO STEP INTO

The artist invites the viewer of her pictures to lose themselves in thoughts, to step inside them and to linger. She uses a central perspective which enables the viewer to enter directly into the picture and to head straight for the centre. The eye is directed by means of staircases, passageways and gates to a bright horizon, a symbol of freedom and insight for Angelika Bender-Wührl.

Up to this point the artist accompanies me, then leaves me on the stage she has provided for me to follow my own fantasies, dreams, feelings and moods. I take the plunge into the unknown and give myself up to a journey of discovery. I feel very well in these spaces of calm and peace, where I am distanced from problems, worries and fears.
